Here Comes the Sun!
Our planet is imperfect. We humans make things, burn things, drive things, do things (kill each other, throw plastic in the ocean…don’t get me started!) We can be self-centered & short-sighted. Yet, I notice that our sun still shines in our sky, where it was placed long ago by our intelligent, loving Creator, for our good.
I heard recently that spending just 15 minutes in the outdoor sunshine delivers much more vitamin D than the supplements now recommended by many experts. Yet we are avoiding the sun, & using sunscreen (loaded with intense chemicals) like crazy. Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to all sorts of physical, mental, & emotional maladies, & most Americans now have low levels. So, while I wouldn’t blame you for using sunscreen, especially if you burn easily or have skin cancer in your history, I personally am making a point of spending at least 15 minutes in the sun most days. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go outside & play.
